Nintendo has announced a special version of their announcement livestream to showcase the upcoming Donkey Kong Country at Universal Studios Japan. Usually called Nintendo Direct, the Super Nintendo Direct stream will focus exclusively on the theme park.
On November 11 at 2:00 p.m. PT/5:00 p.m. ET, Super Nintendo World Direct will air online for approximately ten minutes. No details have been confirmed, but it’s likely that an opening date will be announced at that time. The land is set to open before the end of the year.
Donkey Kong Country was originally slated to open in summer 2024 at Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World. Japan will be the first park to receive this land expansion. Donkey Kong Country will also be a part of Super Nintendo World when it opens at Epic Universe in Florida next May.
The highlight of the land will be Donkey Kong Mine-Cart Madness, a roller coaster. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong Power Up Bands will also be released.
