Most construction walls have come down from around the new Haunted Mansion gift shop at Disneyland. Work began on the shop and the attraction’s expanded queue in January.

The shop isn’t yet open and some construction walls remain on the side closest to The Haunted Mansion’s exit. But the structure has come a long way in the past month. When we last shared an update, the roof was being installed.

The gift shop is designed to look like an old carriage house. It has light green siding and white beams around the dark green barn doors. A sign with intricate designs but (currently) no lettering hangs below a window on the front of the building.

The green and beige building resembles a quaint shop with a decorative sign above the double doors. A framed picture and notice are posted on the doors, hinting at its storied past. Hanging lanterns cast an eerie glow, reminiscent of a haunted mansion's allure.

Two lights are mounted over the sign to illuminate it at night. It hangs over a pair of dark green barn doors. Concept art (at the bottom of this article) originally showed two doorways on the front of the carriage house.

Around the side are green construction walls. Concept art and a note from Madame Leota are on the walls and the barn doors. As part of the expansion’s lore, the retail shop is owned by Leota, the Haunted Mansion’s resident psychic.

A sign on a green door with a decorative border shows a watercolor image of shop fronts and reads: "Soon, I shall be returning once more, with haunting treasures and wonders galore!

The note reads, “Soon, I shall be returning once more, with haunting treasures and wonders galore!” The full piece of concept art is below.

Judging by the concept art, there will be another entrance into the shop where the construction walls currently are. Props will likely also be added to the outside of the building. The art also shows the window illuminated with ominous green light. Perhaps it will be another “Storytelling Window.”

The Haunted Mansion grounds remain under construction. The expanded grounds, including the gift shop, were originally scheduled to open in 2024 but the queue could be delayed to early 2025, when the regular version of the attraction returns. The ride is currently Haunted Mansion Holiday. Rumors suggest that when The Haunted Mansion does reopen, the hanging corpse in the Stretching Room scene may be gone or covered, along with other changes.
