Today, we’re taking a quick stop on Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure to see the latest progress on the two attractions being added in 2019.
Around Jessie’s Critter Carousel, new construction walls that look they are made of cardboard have arrived. You’ve got to wonder why these would be changed after 4 months and considering this is expected to open in early 2019. Also, how does this make any sense with the theme of PIXAR Pier? Do we shrink to the size of a toy in this Neighborhood?
From the ground, we don’t see much change at the site of the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
From the PIXAR Pal-A-Round, we can see that the site is mostly cleared of all Maliboomer remnants.
Jessies Critter Carousel and the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will both open in 2019 at Disney California Adventure.
You asked if we are supposed to be toy sized. Yes. Jesse is from toy story 2 and she is a toy. If not then the ride should be about a foot tall.
But then the Incredibles and Inside Out characters are toys too? None of this makes sense. It’s a pier, not Andy’s room or backyard.
No, it’s only in the toy story neighborhood that we are toy sized. Each neighborhood has it’s own theme. The same reason for why there is a giant Poultry Palace takeout box in the Toy Story area. The imagineers have stated that it is meant to be a toy carrousel from Al’s Toy Barn.
But the lights, benches and everything else aren’t toys… there’s also a small open Midway Mania playset upstairs at TSMM…
