“What Have You Done to My Ship?” Weeds Are Growing On Top of the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Guests completing work for Hondo Ohnaka at Black Spire Outpost might notice something strange while counting the number of parts on top of the Millennium Falcon. The ship parked in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now home to a small plant.

A detailed spaceship model reminiscent of the Millennium Falcon, with mechanical structures and tubing, is set against a backdrop of futuristic architecture under a clear sky.

From the windows of the queue for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, a plant appears to be growing on the surface of the ship. A couple smaller growths can be spotted nearby.

For a ship that, according to the story of the land, is being flown regularly, foliage would have to be awfully hardy to withstand space travel, especially at hyperspeed. The Falcon has an after-market modified hyperdrive that can go at some of the top speeds in the unforgiving coldness of the galaxy. We’re not aware of any flora in the Star Wars universe that can survive on the exterior of a spaceship.

Perhaps the Hollywood Studios horticulture team is “Imagineering” a little something new or, more likely, there’s just a cleanup needed at Docking Bay 5.
