The bell tower in the Italy pavilion at EPCOT is now covered with scrim that pictures the tower.

In our last update on construction, the tower was almost completely covered in scrim. Only the rooftop was visible at that time. Now, the entire tower is covered in scrim with a photo matching the typical facade of the structure.

The bell tower in the Italy pavilion is designed as a re-creation of the St. Mark’s Campanile, which is located in Venice, Italy. The scrim showcasing an image of this re-creation is only visible on the front and left side, the areas most visible to guests walking by.

The image does not continue on the rear and right sides of the scrim covering. However, the tower is still blocked on all four sides by scaffolding covered in tan scrim and walls around the base.

Disney has not announced any Italy pavilion construction projects so this is likely standard maintenance of the tower and/or the surrounding pavement. During this time, the Il Bel Cristallo shop and La Gemma Elegante shop next to the bell tower remain open to guests. A new Italy merchandise collection featuring Minnie was recently released and the items can be found in La Gemma Elegante.
