The new Test Track sign has been installed in front of the attraction’s building in EPCOT, although it remains covered by black tarps.

Disney filed a permit for the new sign in January and poured concrete in the sign’s circular bed earlier this month. It’s in the same location as the old sign was before it was completely removed last year.

The new sign appears to be cross-shaped. It’s currently surrounded by cones and caution tape. More concrete may be poured into the hole around it later.

Scaffolding is gone from behind the sign. The building’s new overhang is almost complete. Some sheathing has been installed on the sides.

Test Track reimagining concept art

Though the overhang looks just like the concept art released by Disney, the sign is a completely different shape. Changes from concept art to completion are not uncommon. We already knew the sign would be different because the concept art reads “Presented by Chevrolet,” but Test Track is reverting to General Motors sponsorship.

Test Track closed last summer for a reimagining. It will take inspiration World of Motion, the opening day EPCOT attraction that Test Track replaced. Disney said they are focusing on the ride experience rather than pre- and post-shows. In April, they shared a first look at the reimagined Test Track ride vehicles, which have been seen testing on the attraction for a few weeks.

Test Track is scheduled to reopen this summer.
