Nana T.

Hello, this is your one and only Nana. Again, it’s been a while… I don’t even remember what I wrote last time. I have been running around Orlando, New York, Anaheim, and am finally back in Orlando for a bit.

Anyway, let’s talk about my EPIC day.

Hello from Parking

A map at Universal Orlando Resort’s EPIC Universe highlights parking: Hero, Viking, Dragon, Monster, and pick-up zones.

They added this sign, so you know where you parked. As you know, I don’t remember where I parked lots of time, so this might not work for me. However, while I was taking a picture of this, a family saw the sign and wrote down where they parked… so I helped some families! Yay!

In my previous death note princess diary, I wrote that there’s no bathroom in the parking lot, but I lied… They actually have two bathrooms!! For any case of emergencies, here it is.

Epic Universe Loop

Decorative green EPIC Universe gate with gold circles, "Epic Universe" logo at center, theme park entrance.

I think this was my 12th visit to the Epic universe. This park is like a dried, shredded squid. I don’t know if you’ve had dried shredded squid before, but it’s like the more you chew it, the more you’ll enjoy it. Epic is like that. My first visit to Epic back in March, I was like “meh.” Now, I am enjoying it more and more. I started making my “favorites” and “routines.”

So, the Epic Universe loop is the same as other parks. Check merchandise in the front, then check each portal. I personally like to start from the Isle of Berk; after that, it doesn’t matter much. But I must start at Berk…

Other Worlds Mercantile

Finally!! The ears that I was waiting for are HERE! I kept checking Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure… But it was in Epic!

Three colorful animal headbands—black, purple, and pink—are held up at EPIC Universe with merchandise in the background.

I like Fantastic Beasts more than Harry Potter because of the magical creatures… and I love the Niffler… so I adopted him, of course.

Moonship Chocolates

A whimsical store with bear plushies, snacks, and Baby Niffler charms around a central stand under a large chandelier.

The Captain Cacao plush has not been restocked. It’s been almost 4 months since they sold out? I know they have been sold out since mid-March.

A store display with plush EPIC Universe dragon toys, red shirts, and shelves of colorful packaged snacks or toys.

It’s crazy how Universal wasn’t able to restock them fast enough… Even on the opening day, not everything was restocked. I am still waiting on the Toothless mini crossbody bag… It was sold out when I went to the TM preview at the end of March. You know what, let’s go to Berk to see if they restock or not.

Isle of Berk

A clear blue sky over EPIC Universe's lake with Viking statues and a rocky mountain in the background.

This is (my) Berk.

People wait in line under sun umbrellas for a Toothless meet and greet at EPIC Universe; a scooter is parked nearby.

Hiccup and Toothless’ meet and greet wait time has been nuts.

And it’s not even guaranteed that you’ll get to meet Hiccup… You might end up with Villagers. To me, this is a high bet gamble, especially when there is no AP add-on. Everybody is there with a day ticket.

Sign with dragon logo reads: "Wait time 120 minutes for Grump Blows Fire. Maximum of 2 photos per party please.

Also, they have a photo limit of two per family. Is this Tokyo Disney Resort? I won’t bother with this until the AP add-on happens.

A gray, woolly sheep sculpture stands on a stone platform, like a Baby Niffler in EPIC Universe, amid grass and wood posts.

The black sheep’s neck has fallen apart, or he ate too much grass.

Wooden Viking-themed structures with dragon heads in EPIC Universe, nestled in a sunny, tree-filled outdoor area.

The left dragon hasn’t swung its tail for a while… I started feeling like it was never moved.

Rustic wooden gift shop interior with Baby Niffler Ear displays, hanging lanterns, and shoppers browsing.

And guess what? My crossbody bag is not restocked yet… ughhhhhh.

A colorful dragon statue breathes fire inside a rustic blacksmith workshop at EPIC Universe.

The reason why I am here today is to see GRUMP BLOWING FIRE!! Well, well, well, it’s finally happening now! Took a while, but finally!

So now what… we are missing the flying dragons? I think that’s the only thing missing.

A hand holds an iced Starbucks drink with a fountain and EPIC Universe’s blue sky in the background.

Stopping by at Starbucks for a tea, and this is what I got…

I love how TM is trying to make the cup special. Disney got their special cups, but Universal doesn’t… so they are drawing. I love it a lot. Made my day.

Ministry of Magic

Art Nouveau green arches in a tiled hallway with room numbers; EPIC Universe and "Harry Potter" signs in the background.

Did you know the numbers on Métro-Floo were EPIC project numbers? I love how Universal Creative is putting those.

At Les Galeries Mirifiques, I found a tiny suitcase full of notebooks.

Journal Keepsake Box – $40

Collage of bookstore photos featuring a suitcase-themed book box and a charming Baby Niffler Ear illustrated cover.

It comes with four notebooks and a case to carry them.

A man in vintage attire stands by a green window, gazing inside an EPIC Universe-themed rustic building with posters.

I was wandering around Place Cachée to make sure nothing new or interesting was happening when I got caught by Lou Ferne (aka Wizard Popo/Auror) for being suspicious… as usual.

Also, don’t forget to bring your wand permit if you are carrying a wand. I didn’t bring my wand today, so he didn’t ask me about it today… (One day, I will bring a permit so I can legally carry my wand.)

Dark Universe

A person in a brown vest, hat, and gloves stands behind a railing at EPIC Universe, face wrapped in white cloth.

I haven’t seen Ygor for a while… I kept running into an invisible man.

Last time I saw him, he told me to “die in a ditch because nobody cares”… lol. What a great character.

Empty benches line a sunny path near lush greenery at EPIC Universe, with people walking in the distance.

They added benches to sit, but, ummm… it was way too hot.

Like the “I could’ve cooked bacon on there” kind of hot. I am thankful that Universal added benches, but… can we also have shade?

Also, there were two carts selling drinks. The heat is no joke this year. I got heat exhaustion in May, and it took me a while to get back to normal. I spend lots of days in parks, but I still get heat exhaustion. Please stay hydrated and take lots of breaks under the AC.

A themed EPIC Universe gift shop with Baby Niffler merch, two employees at the counter, and a chandelier overhead.

At Pretorius’ Scientific Oddities, they added lots of advertisements for “monster make-up experience.”

A glowing portrait of a man and Baby Niffler appear beside an Egyptian sarcophagus and stacked luggage in a dimly lit room.

I have a feeling that this is not going well…? Jason and I did it, and I loved every moment of it.

It was super professional in so many ways; the makeup was smudge-free all day, and I had a hard time taking it off with makeup remover. Worth every penny. My words are not enough to explain how fun it was… so I will leave the YouTube here.

The laughs we had after the makeup were priceless. If I ever go back to Epic with my friends to play, I would love to do that again.

Super Nintendo World

Colorful EPIC Universe theme park area with blocky, video game-inspired structures under a bright blue sky.

Sensory overload, as usual. If you’ve never been to Shibuya Crossing, it’s like this.

Today, lots of animatronics are not happy and are taking a vacation. Mr. Miyamoto won’t be happy about it.

As someone born and raised in Japan, I still can’t believe how much people love Nintendo here. So many guests are dressed up as Mario, Luigi, or Princess Peach, it’s amazing to see! I played Nintendo 64 as a kid, and my mom had a Super Famicom, so I grew up around it, but I never really got into it.

I didn’t see much in the way of new stuff here today.

Bonus – Blue Dragon

Hand holding a glass of bubble tea in front of a neon tiger sign at the EPIC Universe-themed bar.

When I first came here to review the food with Tom, the Thai Boba wasn’t available… but now it finally is! So, as someone who drinks boba at least once a week, I had to try it.

You can read the full review here, but Universal’s boba game is so weak. At CityWalk, you can get boba at Bend the Bao, but it’s not great and is overpriced. I thought EPCOT’s Joy of Tea was Disney price, but I’ll take that over Universal’s boba business.

I love their food, it was fantastic, but not the boba.

Anyways, this will conclude my Epic Universe coverage for a while. Who would have thought we all would love Epic? I can’t wait to see what Epic will bring in the future.

Thank you for reading Nana’s Death Note Princess Diary. Have an Epic day and see you real soon.
