Something special is happening at the Annual Passholder lounge in Universal Islands of Adventure for the “Jaws” 50th anniversary on Friday.
‘Jaws’ 50th Anniversary Offering
The Universal Orlando Resort Annual Passholders Instagram page teased in their story that “Something is in the water…” Whatever it is, Passholders can experience it in the UOAP Lounge in Universal Islands of Adventure on Friday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We don’t know what the special offering will be. Maybe a photo op or meet and greet. Universal Studios Hollywood announced a meet and greet with Sheriff Brody and Quint for Universal Mega Movie Summer, but no such meet and greet has made its way to the Orlando parks. The characters do appear in the “Jaws” unit of the Universal Mega Movie Parade at Universal Studios Florida.
The slide does say “while supplies last,” which could mean Passholders will get a commemorative souvenir. A “Jaws” UOAP magnet was available in May.
June 20 is the actual 50th anniversary date of “Jaws.” The blockbuster was the highest-grossing movie of all time when it was released on June 20, 1975. Universal is honoring the milestone anniversary with special merchandise, a shark-shaped sipper, and special dishes. A “Little Amity” pop-up in the San Francisco area of Universal Studios Florida honors the park’s defunct Amity Island area, which housed the Jaws ride. There’s even a Jaws ride replica boat and roaming skippers.
