Over five years after Mickey’s Gift Station at Walt Disney World permanently closed, the shop’s sign has been removed from the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Mickey’s Gift Station was a last-stop gift shop at the Transportation and Ticket Center, perfect for guests still looking for merchandise before they left the Magic Kingdom area. In December 2019, it closed temporarily for construction at the Transportation and Ticket Center. It reopened within a few weeks but wouldn’t last much longer.
Walt Disney World shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. Mickey’s Gift Station was one of a handful of shops and offerings throughout the resort that never reopened.
Despite this, the Mickey’s Gift Station sign has remained gathering dust outside the closed shop. The windows were covered with sheets from the inside, but still had decorative decals visible on the outside.
As of August 15, 2025, the sign is now gone. Its two supports remain on the overhang in front of the abandoned shop.
The sign had a yellow, orange, and blue color scheme with a Monorail pictured on top. It had neon lights that glowed at night.
Although the sign is gone, decals remain on the windows. One instructs guests to “Discover the Magic.”
The sign’s removal may be part of a general update to the Transportation and Ticket Center. There are construction walls up on the opposite side of the center, likely for concrete replacement. New parking lot directional decals were installed in July — although some had to be removed for using the wrong name for the TTC. In May, Disney added an A-frame sign featuring a map with walking times to each parking lot.
