Walt Disney World Calendar Reveals Potential Cinderella Castle Repainting Start Date

We know that the repainting of Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World is imminent, and the Magic Kingdom calendar may have revealed when the project officially starts.

Cinderella Castle Repainting Begins Soon

Every morning, Mickey and Minnie Mouse officially welcome guests to Magic Kingdom with the “Let the Magic Begin” opening ceremony, which takes place in front of Cinderella Castle and features several characters emerging from the castle.

Normally, “Let the Magic Begin” is performed every day at 8:55 am, which is reflected on the Walt Disney World calendar. However, starting Wednesday, January 28, there are no performances listed for the duration of the calendar, which currently ends on March 18.

That means we may see Cinderella Castle’s transformation to its original color scheme start within the next two weeks. To commemorate, Walt Disney World already has a whole blue and gold castle merchandise collection.

Cinderella Castle was originally shades of gray with light blue turrets. In 2020 and 2021, it was repainted with a new 50th anniversary color scheme featuring royal blue turrets, a different shade of gray on the lower half, and a pale pink on the top half, plus more gold trims.

Disney announced in summer 2025 that the castle will be restored to its classic colors. They later announced that painting would begin in January 2026 and finish late in the year.
