Routine refurbishment continues apace on the the popular rapids ride at Disney California Adventure, with new scrim added to the first lift hill.
Grizzly River Run Refurbishment Update
Grizzly River Run at Disney California Adventure is currently closed for routine maintenance, as is typically seen starting in January.

On a recent visit to California Adventure, we noticed the addition of a large scrim covering a portion of the Eureka Mining Company mill building (the structure that frames the initial lift hill on the ride).

The scrim spans a good portion of the building’s side visible from the surrounding walkway. Specifically, it appears to be setup to block guests from viewing the entry/exit point of the mill, as shown to the left of the wheel in the photo below.

The addition of this scrim may suggest that some refurbishment work is underway for the walkable elements of the mill, or some part of the exterior façade for re-paneling or painting.

Scrim also covers the backside of Grizzly River Run’s mountainside, which overlooks the main walkway leading to Avengers Campus and Cars Land. Work could include resculpting and repainting as needed.
