Levi’s first Super Bowl ad in over 20 years focused on denim-clad behinds, including that of the rootinest tootinest cowboy in the wild wild West.

Woody Appears in Levi’s ‘Backstory’ Super Bowl Ad

Woody’s backside, with a visible red Levi’s tag, appears early in the spot, which is titled “Backstory” and is set to James Brown’s song “Get Up Offa That Thing.” The ad is Levi’s first Super Bowl commercial in over 20 years.

Woody’s appearance in the ad isn’t wholly surprising, as last fall Levi’s teamed up with Disney and Pixar on a 30th anniversary Toy Story collection full of Western wear. Each item had one of six different character patches at the hem: Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye, Rex, or Aliens.
