In what seemed like just your average construction permit, we’ve uncovered changes coming to the entrance area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are plans to erect a new tram shade structure. Per permit documents, “The project involves the construction of a shade structure and hardscape at entrance.”
There will be some work done on some of the water basins and ponds by the park’s parking lot edge.
However, if you look closely at the designated Project Area, which encompasses the bus stop, tram stop, and main entrance, there’s a turquoise “Proposed Building”. That is the proposed new shade structure for the tram.
A closer look at the Project Area.
There is the possibility of a new security check area, but this is just speculation as of now.
These are all part of Resort-wide improvements to the guest flow at the parks, with every park getting an entrance revamp, as well as added security changes. Stay tuned to WDW News Today as we bring you the latest developments and updates on this project.
