Universal Studios Florida is getting ready for Halloween Horror Nights 35 with trusses throughout the park ready to be adorned with props. But in addition to several trusses and light towers, we also spotted two themed set pieces.
Universal Studios Florida Entrance

A truss is up at the main gate of Universal Studios Florida. There is no signage or theming on the archway yet but this is where guests will watch the “Opening Scaremonies.”

Inside the park is a set of trusses outside the Universal Studios Store. This usually acts at the main entrance into the event’s story and first scare zone. Beige scrims are wrapped around scaffolding in front of the trusses.

Lights and speakers hang from the top of the structure. Like the main entrance, this has no theming yet.

A pair of towers are stationed at the front of an alley next to Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. This is usually a house entrance.
New York

Moving into the New York section, another truss is in front of construction walls next to the Universal Music Plaza. There’s also usually a house entrance in this area, although we don’t know how construction of Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift will affect operations.

More towers are at the corner of Gramercy Park. The tallest towers are topped by lights.

Some of the towers are short and may be added to later.

A themed stage is next to Gramercy Park, in front of Revenge of the Mummy. This street usually houses a major scare zone and could be connected to the Tribute Store theme.

The stage has a marble-like finish with a platform near the back center. Stairs lead up to the platform, which faces the Tribute Store location.

As we previously reported, the Tribute Store is apparently moving back to the extended queue of Revenge of the Mummy. Crews have set up a covered queue in the courtyard of the Museum of Antiquities facade to support the ride.

Further down the street, we spotted another short tower outside Starbucks.
San Francisco

In the San Francisco section is a large set of trusses creating a square structure. Short platforms are next to each of the columns.

A taller platform with stairs leading up to it is between two of the columns, near the water. Scareactors will presumably perform on these platforms.

Another tower with lights is at the edge of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley. The Wizarding World doesn’t host a proper scare zone but usually has wandering Death Eaters during Halloween Horror Nights.
World Expo

On the other side of the Wizarding World are more light towers leading into World Expo.

Outside the former Fear Factor theater are towers that will eventually hold theming and/or signage for Nightmare Fuel: Blood Noir, this year’s HHN stage show.
Hollywood

Outside Animal Actors On Location! are more tall towers with stage lights.

Closer to DreamWorks Land is a wide platform with safety railings.

The light towers continue down the street next to Central Park.

At the end of the street is a truss. This is usually the entrance of a scare zone.

Towers with string lights hanging from them are in this park space near Transformers The Ride. This spot isn’t usually a scare zone but a bar with characters.

Light towers continue down the streets of Hollywood for another scare zone.

Outside The Bourne Stuntacular is our second themed set piece after the stage. This is a rusty tower of metal topped by a large circular element painted with a clown face on both sides.

Saw blades are on top of the clown face. A hand at the end of a wavy arm points into the scare zone.
This may be the Infernal Carnival of Nightmares scare zone featuring Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares” is the event’s overall theme. Jack and Oddfellow also star in the haunted house Jack & Oddfellow: Chaos & Control.
Halloween Horror Nights 35

In addition to Jack & Oddfellow, the Halloween Horror Nights houses announced so far are Sinners, Stranger Things, Hellraiser, Cybergoria, H.R. Bloodengutz Presents: A Halloween Fright-Tacular!, INVASION: Alien Abduction, and MADLANDS: Caged Cannibals.
