Construction continues to progress for the future Coco attraction coming to Disney California Adventure, with the latest update including a new trench being dug.

Coco Attraction Construction Progress

During our latest visit to the Disneyland Resort, we could see the construction progress from our vantage point in the Pixar Place Hotel. The Coco attraction site is located in the backstage area near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, behind the Incredicoaster and along Disneyland Drive.

Alongside the tall black scrim fence that parallels the road, we could see an excavator digging a fairly steep trench. Orange construction tape has been placed along the top of the trench to warn workers of the hole. The large piles of dirt that were on the far-left side have also been replaced with stacks of pipe.

The paved roadway for internal construction access has remained largely unchanged since our previous update.

A lower angle of the construction site subtly shows the trench through the black scrim. The red water-filled barriers that were installed in front of the shorter fence by Disneyland Drive have also been removed.

Coco Attraction

Disney has not announced an opening timeframe or name for the Coco attraction, but said guests would venture into the Land of the Dead, hear iconic songs from the film, and see Audio-Animatronic characters. Concept art indicates it will be a boat ride.
