Guten Tag from EPCOT’s Germany pavilion! Today, we popped into Karamell Küche to try out the new gingerbread cookie sandwich. Spoiler alert: it did not disappoint.

A Cast Member procured the treat from a cooler case, wrapped it in wax paper, placed it in a plastic to-go box and handed it over to us. It is $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit.

The cookies are two large, incredibly soft, and perfectly spiced gingerbread cookies. They are exactly what you always wished stale, crunchy gingerbread was actually like. The cookies are firm enough that they hold their shape, but soft enough that your fingers will leave an imprint after a while of holding it.

We took it outside to examine it further and get some pictures of this gorgeous snack.

It was so tempting to take a bite before the photoshoot was over, but we resisted.

When it was finally time to eat it, we cut it in half for a nice cross section.

Then it was time to take a bite of the cookie sandwich. The gingerbread cookies were perfectly soft and spiced. Truly an amazing piece of gingerbread. It’s like what you wish a gingerbread house would taste like instead of stale cardboard disappointment. This might be the best gingerbread cookie I’ve ever had.

The frosting on the inside was just like the frosting you’d use on a gingerbread house. It’s hardened on the outside, but kind of fluffy and melts in your mouth on the inside.

While the caramel stripe is beautiful, the flavor was not detectible at all.

Overall, this treat was absolutely amazing. Personally, I would recommend you skip the pitiful cookie trail treats and go straight for this one. It’s a much better flavor and value for your mid-afternoon sugar craving.
