As part of the overall refresh of Tomorrowland in the Magic Kingdom, the vertical supports lining the top half of the PeopleMover are slowly being returned to their former concrete forms, and painted white to match a crisp new take on futurism. In addition to the upper supports’ transformation, the bottom half is also being painted to match.
We saw these telescoping bases near one side of the Tomorrowland entrance already painted. You can still see the former grey-colored base in the background.
Nearby, scaffolding is still up as more support renovation work is carried out. It’s worth noting that this is more along the lines of a partial renovation, since the upper supports are actually being returned to their former state, but these lower supports are just holdovers from 1994 Tomorrowland.
We expect the rest of the telescoping bases to also be painted white to match. For now, only four supports on this end have been painted over.
As the transformation of this space continues, we leave 1994 Tomorrowland behind. What do you think of the new look for the land?
They look so… insect-like. Giant waterbug legs terrorizing my hopes and dreams.
Hopefully they realize how bad that looks and finishes the stripping of the 94 effects.
