Tropical Storm Isaias was officially upgraded to Hurricane status overnight, and continues to make its way towards the east coast of Florida. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued along the Treasure Coast. While the path for the Category 1-2 hurricane continues to slowly shift east, Central Florida could still face storm force winds this weekend.
Tropical storm conditions are expected along the Florida east coast starting on Saturday, with the possibility of high winds, heavy rain, storm surge, and flash flooding possible through early next week.
The National Weather Service is encouraging residents and visitors to monitor the status of the system, and check their hurricane kits and emergency supplies now.
Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando’s Hurricane Policy states that a Hurricane Watch or Warning must be issued for cancellation or change fees to be waived. You can check for any further updates from the National Hurricane Center here, and read up on Walt Disney World’s hurricane policy here.
