As Tropical Storm Isaias could affect areas of Orlando, Walt Disney World has begun making preparations to the theme parks to ensure all areas of the parks can withstand Tropical Storm conditions. Let’s take a look at the precautions that have started to take place in EPCOT.

These Purple Martin birdhouses in Future World have been lowered to about halfway down their poles.

The construction pallets remain on top of the Wonders of Life pavilion but seem to be secured.

The American flag still waves proudly and has yet to be taken down.

The banners at the entryway are still unfurled. This may be because they are secured at all four corners and do not need to be rolled up.

Earlier today, Hurricane Isaisas was downgraded to a Tropical Storm, although heavy winds and rain are still expected in the area. Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando’s Hurricane Policy states that a Hurricane Watch or Warning must be issued for cancellation or change fees to be waived. You can check for any further updates from the National Hurricane Center here, and read up on Walt Disney World’s hurricane policy here.
