PHOTOS: Morocco Pavilion Shops and Restaurants Now Closed, Refurbishments Underway Ahead of Disney Ownership at EPCOT

After a number of internal issues, Walt Disney World is officially assuming operations of all Morocco Pavilion businesses at EPCOT, including all food & beverage and merchandise locations. Since the announcement in October, there have been signs of various businesses in the Morocco Pavilion closing and undergoing refurbishment.

When we stopped by today, painting was going on in Spice Road Table’s dining area.

Columns were getting new detail work, painted to look like intricate tiles.

Many areas of the pavilion are temporarily blocked off by planters.

As we posted earlier, Souk-Al-Magreb and Spice Road Table will be reopening this weekend.

The Art of Henna is currently closed.

Despite this sign, the Medina merchandise location as well as Restaurant Marrakesh will remain closed until further notice.

The Race Against the Sun exhibit and the nearby Kidcot table remain open.

As part of Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition scavenger hunt, Olaf has been moved from his original location.

  1. I wonder if they’ll fix the tiles that the original Moroccan decorators broke on purpose to honor Allah. Cue Bob Chapek voice “Broken tiles??? Cover them with some decals!”
