We continue to monitor the demolition of Innoventions West at EPCOT. Recently, we saw that almost the entire roof had been removed.

Today, while checking out the progress, we noticed even more dismantling has taken place. The last of the themed support was finally taken down.

The building is mostly down to its bare bones structure.

There is also more exposed wiring and some broken pipes now.

The roof remains on a small portion of the building.

We expect that whats left of the roofing to be removed soon along with the structural beams.

Innoventions West is being cleared for the new Moana – Journey of Water attraction at EPCOT. Keep checking WDWNT for more updates on this project.

  1. I don’t understand why they are dismantling Innoventions West piece by piece, i work in the heavy construction industry & i can tell you there’s something amiss here. Selective demolition is done if there are environmental or archeological concerns plus not to mention its SUPER SUPER expensive. They could easily use Large caterpillar excavators and rip this building to debris in a matter of weeks, similar to Horizons (remember that in 2001). it could be that they are trying to salvage the steel columns and beams , but I doubt that , why do that?
