Disney Springs has placed new signage at entrances that clarifies the types of face masks that are not permitted inside the shopping, dining, and entertainment area.
We found these in the Orange Garage.
Neck gaiters are not permitted.
Open-chin triangle bandanas are not permitted.
Face coverings with valves are not permitted.
Face coverings with mesh are not permitted.
The signage can be seen at the top of the escalator and two more are visible as you enter the security and temperature check line, making sure all guests have been informed about the face masks that are not permitted.

The last two look like “Groot” and “Cheese Grater”
let’s be honest. if covid is that much of a monster under the bed moment wdw would completely close again for the safety of their visitors. this stuff is just fluff saying “hey, at least we did something”. yes people, the bottom line is all the new managed disney worries about. the magic? not so much.
stupid let’s move on now.
It is great that this private corporation is issuing safety guidance according to the CDC and not the maga.
Thank you for solidifying our decision to not patronize…..much to my dismay.
I am so glad you’re choosing “freedom” over consideration of others health and safety. Wish more institutions were taking accountability as seriously.
The masks with the valves/vents that are now not allowed are used by some lung patients. It’s a cool air valve with a filter inside to help them breathe less restricted because air is flowing safely through the valve. How can Disney say that is not acceptable? That’s medical discrimination.
It’s probably not the right time for someone with a lung issue to visit WDW. Since it is still possible to transmit the virus through masks with valves it could also be seen as discriminatory to allow unsafe masks in for the rest of the patrons.
The valve thing is little questionable considering most N95s have a one-way “cooling” valve.. Would those be disallowed?
Do this banned mask types extend to the parks as well? My kids have been wearing neck gaiters and we will be heading to Magic Kingdom in a few months
It does
Tom:
My son has autism and has trouble wearing a mask but does the gaiter no problem. We were at Disney Springs last week and they would not let us in so we scrapped the Springs and did Universal (we didn’t do any WDW parks this trip 4 days of Universal). We are doing WDW in September. Are there any type of Medical waivers for gaiters you have heard of?
There are none.
With the number of cases dropping across the US, and rate of vaccination increasing steadily with each passing day, not to mention the onset of warmer weather, why on earth are face masks restrictions tighter than ever??? Is there something else going on here?
And don’t tell me “because of science” because Fauci has flip flopped on face masks, and the WHO and CDC were never aligned on them. We’re approaching the point of this becoming more and more irrelevant.
Ridiculousness!!!!
