Guests driving to the Walt Disney World Resort are met with a sign promoting the Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You may be familiar with this sign on World Drive, and you also may remember that it’s been out of commission for some time. However, we noticed that the snapped elevator car on the sign is now back in motion!
Driving on Walt Disney World Resort property, guests can see two Hollywood Tower hotels: one looking over Disney’s Hollywood Studios and this promotional sign that gives guests a taste of what the attraction is.
The intuitive design is an iconic promotional piece to welcome guests to the resort. The ride car shakes back and forth to mimic the elevator attraction.
You can check out video of the sign in all its glory down below:
Are you as excited as we are to see that this sign is fixed? Let us know in the comments!

I love that sign, and as a frequent WDW visitor I’ve wondered why it wasn’t moving. Glad to see it in action again.
Although I’ve only visited Walt Disney World twice, both in the last twenty years, reading stories of how driving through the property through the immaculate maintained roadway of just trees, until reaching Magic Kingdom, makes me wonder if these “billboards” are necessary, or even detrimental to the Disney experience? I’d assume this sign was build for the attraction’s opening in 1994? Considering there have been major attractions opened since then, is this tacky billboard necessary for what could now could be considered a ‘classic’ attraction? If then, should other classic attractions have billboards cluttering the roadway on property?
Nice to see!
