The demolition of Innoventions West has been going on for quite some time to make way for the new Journey of Water attraction, inspired by Moana. The construction progress is making great strides, as the area is now left with just a few remaining pieces of metal framing.

Large pieces of horizontal supports are now dismantled. The framing stretched across the remaining pieces shown above and acted as the main support structure of the former building.

Only a few pieces of support structure remain, as large pieces seem to be dismantled each day.

What remains of the former Art of Disney store is now just a few pieces of metal framing.

This piece is all that remains of the breezeway.

An entire section of support was removed since yesterday, leaving one singular pillar that we expect to be taken down soon.

  1. Tom,
Can you share some details about Journey of water attraction. Besides being out in the open & a walk thru exhibit, how will it protect the guests from the scorching Florida heat? At least innoventions west provided guests with a nice cool ac environment with chairs/sofas where people could relax and chill. How will journey of water compare in that aspect ? Are there splash pads?

  2. I wonder if Disney will post a time lapse of the removal at some point? That would be fascinating to see!
