Greetings from another exciting day at the Universal Orlando Resort! We’re back and ready to take a look at what’s happening around the parks. Let’s get going!
We started our morning at Islands of Adventure for Early Park Admission and when we arrived in Hogsmeade, we were disappointed to see that Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was delayed.
It was a beautiful morning, but storms would move in quickly. That’s typical Florida weather, so be prepared for anything.
The “If I Ran the Zoo” play area in Seuss Landing has reopened! We stopped in to play around and check out the area after watching it get painted and repaired over the last couple of weeks. You can read more details on the reopening and check out tons of photos of the area in our post here.
Islands of Adventure has a lot of outdoor attractions, and when lightning is in the area, these rides shut down for safety. The few indoor rides at this park tend to draw large crowds during gloomy weather. We saw a lot of guests seeking shelter from the rain at the entrance of Cat in the Hat and the wait time there was 45 minutes.
We walked in the rain and took the shortcut to Universal Studios Florida.
The gift shops become very busy during the rain with people hurriedly looking to buy ponchos and umbrellas.
The rain stopped pretty soon after it started, but the sky still looked threatening.
The Williams of Hollywood Prop Shop has a few fun items available. There’s a blood-splattered curtain from Halloween Horror Nights available for purchase.
There are also some “Modern White Squares” from Men in Black and Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
There are plenty of Barney movies available for $5 each, making us miss “A Day in the Park”.
Thanks for joining us around the parks today! Be sure to stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for more updates from the Universal Orlando Resort.
