As part of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Walt Disney World has several special offerings this month. We stopped by Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs to try their special menu.
The Asian Heritage and Pacific Island Month Evening Special Menu
Three items are on the Asian Heritage and Pacific Island Month Evening Specials menu: Lomilomi Salmon Tartare as an appetizer, A5 Wagyu Loco Moco as an entree, and Halo Halo for dessert.
Appetizer Course: Lomilomi Salmon Tartare – $18
Hawaiian salt cured Faroe Island Salmon with tomatoes, onions and scallions jalapeño, shiso
We found this dish to be very salt forward, with a slightly fishy salmon aftertaste. There is a slight tinge of spice on the back end of the bite from the jalapeño, and a hint of the onion overall.
This dish was solid, but it’s not something we would recommend based on how salty it was.
Entree Course: A5 Wagyu Loco Moco – $32
House blended burger with A-5 wagyu and Filet Mignon, served over sizzling rice bowl topped with a sunny side up cage free egg and teriyaki mushroom gravy
Wow—this dish packs a punch! The A5 Wagyu blend makes for a very flavorful, juicy patty, combined with egg and the always delicious rice from Morimoto.
The mushroom gravy complements the rest of the dish very well. It provides an enjoyable mushroom flavor in every bite after you give it a mix with the provided spoons.
This is the ultimate comfort food dish served in a sizzling bowl.
It’s absolutely perfect.
