While a lot of the food focus at Universal Studios revolves around Halloween Horror Nights lately, there are still other magical tasting treats to try.
One such treat is located at Honeydukes inside Hogsmeade village in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
The pink and green sweet shop is a favorite of Harry Potter fans, specializing in candy and sweets of all sorts.
One of their more mysterious concoctions is their No Melt Ice-Cream and we decided to try the newly arriving pumpkin flavor, just in time for fall.
Pumpkin No-Melt Ice Cream – $7.00
The “ice cream” certainly is eye-catching. The bright orange and yellows really stand out.
Wizards must have no need for dentists! Jokes aside, this is basically a giant pile of icing that holds its shape and form despite the heat. So, no it’s not really ice cream.
There’s a tiny little ginger snap type of cookie on top. It’s soft and sweet and delicious.
There are bits of graham cracker crumbs at the bottom too. Kind of like a pumpkin pie type of dessert. The frosting smells like pumpkin but doesn’t really have much of a pumpkin flavor. It’s very faint, almost non-existent.
The icing is delicious but it’s hard to get more than a few bites before the sugar overpowers you. Also, this is big enough to share, so we wouldn’t recommend eating this alone. We tried another No Melt Ice-Cream before with similar results.
There are much better Fall desserts out and about in Universal Studios but if you’re looking to keep with a “Wizarding World” theme on your trip, then this would be a fun option. Otherwise, we would recommend you pass on this treat.
