Guests looking to take a trip to the fifth dimension were met with an unpleasant surprise at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is expected to remain closed today due to unscheduled maintenance, with Cast Members posted out front to direct guests to other attractions in the park.
Just yesterday, we spotted scaffolding up on the upper floors of the building’s exterior, likely connected to the work being done in a section not typically accessible for standard repairs. Reportedly, crews have needed to cut into the building, suggesting this could take some time to fix. No reason has been given for this unplanned shutdown, nor do we currently know when the attraction will reopen to guests.

With the ride being down, is the gift shop at Tower of Terror open and accessible to guests. I’m trying to grab the 50th medallions in the new machine there.
What about the gift shop?
We were there Monday…stood in line 1.5 hours, moving at first and then not even moving – and they never told us the whole thing had broken down 😡
The ride is probably down because my phone is stuck inside one of the ride cars and now it’s causing havoc . It got stuck in September and they told me they were unable to locate it. It is stuck on car number 6 and I’m sure maintenance did not take the side panel off to locate it. Never able to speak to anyone. Maybe this platform will get someone to finally look again!!
