Welcome to a chilly winter day here at the Universal Orlando Resort. Temperatures are in the 40s today, which means we get to enjoy the parks with low crowds. Let’s make our way over to Universal Studios Florida first.
If you can bundle up and handle the morning cold, the views are the park are amazing. Even late into the morning, the crowds remained low.
You know it’s a slow day when Diagon Alley looks like this. At least the heat from the dragon fire warms the Wizarding World.
We happened to see a display of Mardi Gras foods in Battery Park and spotted a few old favorites as well as new dishes. We’re excited to check out all the menus for Mardi Gras. Food tents have also popped up around the park.
The Hogwarts Express is closed again. This is the third day that the attraction has been closed, which means we’ll be walking between parks today.
Two new stars are coming to Hollywood Boulevard. A new set of barricades is blocking off a square near the Bourne Stuntacular.
Some of the Shrek banners have been removed from the extended queue of Shrek 4-D.
Temperatures started to warm up a bit as we got to Islands of Adventure in the afternoon. The park felt a little busier than Universal Studios Florida, but not too bad.
Even with the low crowds, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure was posted at a 120 minute wait.
In the Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe, you can find Earl’s fudge on sale. It’s now buy 2, get 1 free since the holidays are over.
That’s all for this visit to the Universal Orlando Resort. Be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates, including everything you need to know about Mardi Gras 2022!
