While the exterior of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is almost complete, another new attraction is far from opening at EPCOT. Let’s take a look at the construction of Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana.”
The short wall in front of this small structure (center) and steel extension has been painted black.
Wooden boxes were recently installed on bases in front of the structure to the right.
Crew members were gathered around the boxes in front of the longer concrete wall to the left.
The land has been flattened somewhat between all of these structures. There are no longer hills of dirt.
A pit remains, surrounded by orange net fencing.
Past this concrete wall, the foundation is coming together for a larger structure.
We first saw this new structure outlined earlier this month with short wood walls.
The base is now complete and it forms a flat, oddly-shaped platform. Metal frames sit atop it, presumably to create more layers of the structure.
The walkthrough attraction will have interactive water features. These structures will likely be dressed up as rocks and hills.
A trench past the foundation of the new structure is full of pipes.
Two concrete walls are visible in the ground just past the construction walls.
They are followed by a large pile of dirt and a corrugated metal wall.
Beyond the metal wall, another structure has been mostly encased in concrete.
The structure was originally just the thin rectangular on the right but has more than doubled in width.
There is no opening date for Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana.”

It does not look any better. This was a bad idea. Bobby C. must get mad when he sees all the $$$$$$$ going out the window for this.
I have a name for this. “The money pit”.
Don’t know about far from opening. At the rate they’re moving, I could see a July opening
