The Alps span eight European countries, so the food booth, available during the EPCOT 2022 International Food & Wine Festival, has done a great job bringing all of those European flavors together and representing all the different cultures and cuisines. Looking for savory options? Try the swiss cheese raclette with ham and a hearty beer. Or, for those looking for something sweet, there’s a pear and pecan raclette and a frozen rosé!

Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Alpine Ham, Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and Baguette – $5.50
Our reporter doesn’t usually like Swiss but said this cheese is very mild. It’s served incredibly hot. The ham is both sweet and very smoky. The potatoes don’t add much, but the cornichons balance the heavier flavors of the cheese and ham. The baguette was acceptably fresh, but the outside crust was slightly tougher than expected. The inside was soft enough to absorb the flavors of the dish. Overall, it’s a pretty good dish for the price, though it is heavy and slightly greasy given the cheese-centric nature, so order with caution depending on where you are in your day.
Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Baby Potatoes, Cornichons, and Baguette – $5.00
We loved this! It’s an actual block of cheese that they’re melting and then scraping off onto the plate, and unlike many dishes at the festival, this one has a good bread to cheese ratio.
*NEW* Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese with Riesling-Poached Pears, Red Wine-Braised Figs, Candied Pecans, Honey, and Cranberry Toast – $5.50
Every aspect of this dish is sweet, except the Swiss cheese. The smell of said cheese is overpowering. It comes with two pieces of toast, two poached pear slices, and two and a half figs. This dish would be great for fall weather, but it’s awful in the heat of the summer. The combination of sweet swiss cheese and the very angry sun made this dish hard to swallow. Also, the toast was too tough to chew! We would pass on this one.
*NEW* Wicked Weed Brewing Uncle Rick’s Pilsner, Asheville, NC (5.1% ABV) $5.00 for 6 oz., $9.00 for 12 oz.
From Untappd: “Pilsner is perfection, and perfection takes patience. After a lengthy and methodical fermentation, Uncle Rick’s emerges. We take the purest Blue Ridge Mountain water and combine it with German yeast, Noble hops, and traditional pilsner malts to brew our perfect Pilsner. or our friends and family, for sunny days and long nights, for celebrating, for relaxing, for Uncle Rick: we craft this beer for both the beer connoisseur and the connoisseur of life.”
Huber Vision Grüner Veltliner, Austria ($15/bottle) – $5.00
Weingut Markus Huber says this wine has “delicate fresh green apple fruity aromas; displaying flavors of lemon; lime and peaches; solid fruit core; rich in finesse; with a beautiful length and mineral tones.”
Cave De La Côte Rosé Gamay, Romand ($12/bottle) – $7.00
According to Cave De La Côte, the Rosé Gamay has “an aroma of red fruit notes (red cherry, raspberry),” and that “this lively, fruity wine is rounded and balanced.”
We were pleasantly surprised by this wine. It’s a light, dry, easy-drinking rosé. Cheers!
René Favre Dôle, Chamoson ($30/bottle) – $7.00
According to Mission Wine & Spirits, the Dôle is “a generous, robust wine that nicely combines terroir and a rustic character along with the fruitiness of red and blackberries.”
Finally, a wine served at the proper temperature! This was very nice and paired well with the food options at this Marketplace. udos to the sommelier.
Frozen Rosé – $9.00
This is the best “frosé” in EPCOT. But remember, it is Walt Disney World, so it’s not going to blow your mind. It’s a very nice, light yet enjoyable frosé. Cheers!
