Revenge of the Mummy will reopen from refurbishment soon, but before it opens, the gift shop at the exit will have to transform back to Sahara Traders. While Revenge of the Mummy has been closed for refurbishment, the store served as the temporary Universal Monsters Tribute Store. Sahara Traders is back, but it’s gotten an amazing update.
The monsters are gone, but a new theme is taking shape. The Museum of Antiquities is coming to life with the addition of tons of new props and details. There are more than a few Easter Eggs in this store, so fans will want to spend some time looking around. We won’t spoil them all for you (yet), but here’s a look at the store’s transformation.
Maps, tickets, and flyers for the Museum of Antiquities can be found around the floor.
Props are still being installed, so we’ll be giving a full, in-depth look when it’s completed and Revenge of the Mummy reopens. We really love the fact that the museum theme is carrying over into this store with such incredible details.
Framed photos have been hung on the walls of the exit ramps.
Who doesn’t love a good themed merchandise display? The weapons on the side of this cabinet are beautiful.
New exhibit! The Ninth Wonder of the World: The Living Mummy! Now open on the lower level.
It’s looking really good in here. Artifacts, books, and crates really help immerse you into the atmosphere.
We’re going to need to spend a good amount of time in here looking around. There’s just so much going on, we need time to take it all in.
There’s still plenty of Monsters merchandise for sale in this store, but now the displays have changed to fit in with the theme.
A wooden crate atop one of the displays appears to be broken open. Let’s hope that was from the outside and not the inside.
Near the entrance to the arcade, another small shelf of objects holds more Easter Eggs for the park.
Make sure you take the time to stop and read some of the papers on the desk. You’ll find some very interesting connections.
King Kong at the Museum of Antiquities? This is a really nice nod to Kongfrontation, which was the attraction housed in this building prior to Revenge of the Mummy.
Did you spot the Finnegan’s menu?
The store looks absolutely amazing, and we can’t wait to explore more once it’s completed.

Looks awesome! Certainly hope that there is a paper coffee cup tucked away in one of the displays :)
