Since the recent launch of MagicBand+, a few issues have popped up. Some designs initially sold were later found to be malfunctioning, and issues with stock have been affecting resort guests who ordered pre-arrival bands.
One of our reporters purchased a MagicBand+ design that was later pulled from the shelves as some were malfunctioning. Its battery didn’t hold a charge.
Upon taking it to Guest Relations, they were aware of the problem and issued a gift card for a new band. Guests having issues with their MagicBand+, especially the pink 50th Cinderella Castle design, should visit Guest Relations.
Similarly, Walt Disney World Resort guests whose MagicBand+ won’t arrive in time for their visit are being contacted via email. For these guests, a refund is being issued, and a $50 digital gift card to purchase a MagicBand+ at the resort. The gift card doesn’t have to be used for a band if you so choose.
Resort guests who have not been emailed are still expected to receive their MagicBand+ before their arrival date.

We were at WDW last weekend and couldn’t get our bands to work. They seemed to charge but couldn’t update them. We were only there for a couple of days so we used our old bands. We went to the desk at the resort for help but they didn’t know how to get them working. All the additional functions are not working properly.
My magic band + continues to disconnect itself which makes it then not work. I have been to the parks 7 days in a row this week and not once has it been connected when going through the entry which it is to buzz and light up. Not one time. I have to stop and reconnect it and then it disconnects itself only a little bit later. I wasted money on this thing,
I bought the Pink 50th Castle Magic Band + online. My vacation isn’t until November. How do I know if I have a band that will malfunction? Also…I’ve had the band for several weeks now without any use…will it lose power quickly if not used? If it turns out to be defective will I need a receipt to get the gift card to replace it? Thanks so much!
