The Walt Disney World Monorail system remains unavailable after initially going down last night.
All lines of the Monorail are closed. Guests traveling from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom currently have to take a ferryboat or bus.
Buses to EPCOT and resorts are also available.
Signs direct guests to the ferryboat for Magic Kingdom.
Stanchions and rope are blocking the way to the Monorail station.
Cast Members say the buses are faster than the ferryboat.
Guests can also walk through Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to Magic Kingdom, although this would take quite a while.
The Monorail system went down at approximately 8:00 p.m. last night and Cast Members have only said there are technical difficulties. Some guests on social media said the system experienced a power outage, but these reports are unconfirmed. Cast Members are hoping it reopens tonight but can’t be sure.
At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, a sign is up stating the Monorail is out of service. Guests can take a bus from this resort that stops at Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom, Contemporary, and the Transportation and Ticket Center before returning to the Polynesian. To get to EPCOT, guests must go to the Transportation and Ticket Center and take a bus from there.
