Disney CEO Bob Iger hinted at a future Black Panther attraction while speaking with Wall Street investors on Monday, The Hollywood Reporter said.

“No. We haven’t had a chance to build a ride, though I’m sure there are people who are working on it,” Said Iger about Black Panther attractions in the Disney Parks.

A walk-around Black Panther character is already at Disneyland, generating hour-long lines, according to Iger. The Marvel film is a smash hit in theaters, and has generated over $700 million in box office sales in just over a week, according to Box Office Mojo.

Iger said the movie is “an important moment in culture,” and told investors at a conference Monday that they can expect more Black Panther merchandise to come out by the year’s end. “I pretty much guarantee that this coming Halloween and even Christmas, you know you’ll be seeing a lot of Black Panther merchandise,” Iger said.

  1. Sounds like a man/company out of touch. I’m sure they expected this to be a lower grossing movie, maybe similar to AntMan or whatever, and they didn’t expect this explosion of popularity, so now they are scrambling to get more merchandise out.

  2. These comments are terrifying. “A great fit for Epcot”? “Perfect for Animal Kingdom”? I hope to God none of you ever ever EVER end up working for Disney, because y’all are absolutely insane.

    • Exactly. It may deserve to be somewhere but hardly a perfect fit for either. A fictional country does not belong in World Showcase as a pavilion. I also don’t love the rush to put fiction in animal kingdom when there are things like Australia, the Amazon, the great barrier reef, North and South American nature, European nature, etc to still include as subjects at the park.
