Neil Patrick Harris Spent $170k on Haunted Mansion Prop, Outbidding Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos

Avid Disney fan and WDWNT shirt owner Neil Patrick Harris once spent $172,500 on a painting from Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion. The painting in question is the man standing on the TNT barrel from the stretching room pre-show. “I love stuff from the Haunted Mansion. The Haunted Mansion in Disney is, like, my favorite thing ever,” said Harris, “It just fits into my Scooby-Doo/Murder Mystery wheelhouse. And so I try and acquire as many things that are from the actual Haunted Mansion as possible.”

What makes the story even crazier is the fact that NPH outbid billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Neil Patrick Harris opened up about this expensive piece of Disneyland history he now owns on James Corden’s The Late Late Show.

The Van Eaton Gallery auction “Souvenirs of Disneyland” in 2016 was where the painting was sold for an incredible sum.
