New recyclable character plates have arrived at Tokyo Disneyland, including removable film and designs based on various legendary Disney characters and the 40th anniversary of Tokyo Disney Resort.
Recyclable Plates at Tokyo Disneyland
These plates are available at Grandma Sara’s Kitchen in Critter Country, wedged between Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion. The informational sign reads:
There’s magic in recycling…Plates with tags can be turned into recyclable material by peeling off the film.
The film goes in the trash can after being peeled, but the plate itself can go directly in a recycling bin.
The film features various iconic Disney Characters, including Tinker Bell, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto. “Tokyo Disney Resort,” “Dream-Go-Round,” and “40” are also part of the design, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland and the Tokyo Disney Resort.
When the film peels off, each recyclable plate has a different character depicted at the bottom. We got Donald Duck, with a silhouette of his face in the center, surrounded by little webbed feet.
Here’s how the set-up looks in action, with a meal inside.
Small arrows indicate the little tabs where the film can be removed.
Just like that, it comes off, and the plate gets recycled after the meal is finished.
