Wild Mushroom Risotto with Aged Parmesan, Truffle Shavings, and Zinfandel Reduction – $9.79

One of the few vegan-friendly items at this year’s festival, this risotto is phenomenal. There are big chunks of mushrooms and the flavor is rich and decadent. We rate this a 7 out of 7.

Roasted Bone Marrow with Onion Marmalade, Pickled Mushrooms, and Petite Lettuce – $10.79

A large bone topped with accompaniments sits on a rectangular white plate.

Despite the sensation of walking away from a booth with a Fred Flintstone-esque bone, this was a major let down. Everything on top is good, but the marrow is flavorless. It’s not worth the money. We rate this a 2 out of 7.

Citrus-Braised Beet Tartare with Golden Beet “Egg Yolk”, Mustard Vinaigrette, Pickled Mustard Seeds, Pickled Mushrooms, Spiced Pistachios, and “Feta” Snow – $5.49

At the Festival of the Arts, savor a dish of beet tartare adorned with microgreens, mushrooms, and mustard seeds, accompanied by a slice of herb-crusted bread on a pristine white plate.

The bread ties the whole thing together. The beet is solid and you do get a Feta-ish flavor from the fake cheese. without the bread this wouldn’t work, but all together this is really good. We rate this a 6 out of 7.

Whole Hog Brewery Raspberry Chéret Double Radler, Stevens Point, WI (5.5% ABV) – $6.00 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

Untappd describes this as a “double Radler beer with natural flavor added. Inspired by the colorful poster the French artist Jules Chéret brought to the streets of 19th-century Paris, Raspberry Chéret is a crisp ale made with Pilsen Malt, Saab Hops, raspberry, citrus, generous carbonation, and twice the bite of a traditional Radler beer.”

Schlumberger Cuvée Klimt Brut, Austria ($18/bottle) – $9.00

From Wine Enthusiast‘s Joe Czerwinski: “Pleasant spiced pear and cinnamon aromas lead into pear and sour plum flavors. Medium-bodied, with a short finish, it’s the only Austrian fizz we’ve ever tried—it makes us think the country has potential.”

*NEW* Orin Swift Abstract California Red Blend, St. Helena, CA ($40/bottle) – $8.00

From Orin Swift: “Pouring a dark purple core with a shimmering mauve rim, the… Abstract pops with immediate notes of ripe blue fruits—blueberry compote specifically—halved pluots, raspberry, freshly watered lavender and musk. Secondary aromatics of mocha and caramel come through as one transitions to the palate. Massive on entry, the wine shows off dark briar fruits, rhubarb, thyme and Bing cherry as the mid-palate full of texture presents itself. Closing with length, the wine finishes with sweet licorice and boysenberry coupled with chains of soft tannins.”

Frozen Scotch Cocktail: Scotch and Twinings Chai Tea Garnished with a Chocolate Nail – $15.50

Frozen Scotch Cocktail: Scotch and Twinings Chai Tea Garnished with a Chocolate Nail – $15.50

The switch to chai tea really improved this cocktail. We think it’s better and really enjoyed it. We rate this a 7 out of 7.
