A square plate holds sliced beef topped with mustard seeds and herbs, accompanied by a creamy mushroom sauce, perfectly embodying the culinary flair of the Festival of the Arts. A hand supports the plate, with vibrant greenery visible in the background.

It seemed tender when cutting it, but it was hard to chew. The flavors are good. The croissant is fantastic. The dish overall is rich from the mushrooms. It’s a shame that the flank steak is of a poor quality because the dish had potential. We rate this a 4 out of 7.

Cast Iron-Roasted P.E.I. Mussels with Sautéed Tomatoes, Garlic, and Fresh Herbs – $7.99

The P.E.I. Mussels were undercooked, with many shells still closed. The mussels that had opened up were very nice and soaked up the tomato flavor while avoiding fishiness. The garlic toast was very crisp with strong flavor. We rate this a 4 out of 7.

BrewDog Black Heart Nitro Oatmeal Stout, Columbus, OH (7.0% ABV) – $6.00 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From BrewDog: “Decadent to the core and loaded with heaps of oatmeal, this beer delivers a red carpet of silky opulence. Overflowing with notes of bitter cacao, roasted coffee and dark berry fruits, it plunges you into the deep, dark, abyss.”

Coffee Old Fashion Cocktail: Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, Simple Syrup, Orange Bitters, and Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey ($18/bottle) – $11.75

Coffee Old Fashion Cocktail: Joffrey’s Cold Brew Coffee, Simple Syrup, Orange Bitters, and Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey ($18/bottle) – $11.75

We enjoy coffee-based cocktails quite a bit, so this was also right up our alley. It’s strong but smooth, with a hint of citrus. If it hits 40 degrees again, we’re not sure we’ll be having one, but we suspect we’ll find enough warm days to have a few of these over the next month. We rate this a 6 out of 7.
