Plant-Based Chorizo Tamal with Cotija and Spicy Red Chile Sauce – $5.50

Wow, this was spicy! The sauce packs a lot of heat. The cake-like texture of the tamale helps to bring down the spiciness. The plant-based “meat” is slightly dry, but the sauce brings moisture to it. It’s extremely flavorful, hearty, and shareable. This is one hot tamale we would definitely get again!

Pastelón: Sofrito-Marinated Beef with Sweet Plantains and Olives – $5.75

Pastelón: Sofrito-Marinated Beef with Sweet Plantains and Olives – $5.75

Consisting of sofrito-marinated beef with sweet plantains and olives, this dish was certainly meaty and a good portion for the cost. Think of it as a high-end and better-tasting Hamburger Helper.

Cinnamon-Spiced Chocolate Crinkle Cookie – $3.25

A delightful chocolate cookie with white glaze rests on a paper plate, reminiscent of the sweet treats enjoyed at the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, perfectly held in hand.

It tastes storebought. It’s soft-ish with a basic chocolate flavor and a little sweetness from the icing.

Ponche Navideño: Mexican Christmas Punch with Apples, Pears, Guava, Oranges, Dried Hibiscus, Brown Sugar, Tamarind, Cinnamon Sticks, and Clove, Served Warm (Non-Alcoholic) – $4.00

This punch lacks flavor and it doesn’t pack a punch. The ingredient list is huge, and we could see fruit and cinnamon floating in our cup, but this was still completely tasteless. We compared it to bathwater. We absolutely do not recommend it.

*NEW* Left Hand Brewing Co. Mexican Hot Chocolate Milk Stout, Longmont, CO (6.0% ABV) – $5.75 for 6 oz., $9.75 for 12 oz.

From Left Hand Brewing Co.: “Left Hand’s Mexican Hot Chocolate starts with our creamy Milk Stout base, infusing it with rich cocoa and sweet vanilla to create a decadently layered drinking experience. A subtle hint of chili adds a gentle warmth, enhancing the depth of flavors without overwhelming the senses and perfectly complementing the beer’s velvety texture and roasted malt character. This brew captures the essence of a classic Mexican Hot Chocolate, offering a complex, inviting flavor that’s both comforting and enticing with each sip.”
