REVIEW: Pineapple Churro Continues the Dole Whip Craze at the Disneyland Resort

The Dole Whip craze is at an all-time high at the Disneyland Resort with Pineapple Donuts, Pineapple Cotton Candy, and now a Pineapple Churro. This new concoction can be found at the churro cart on Main Street USA, directly in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. (Note: This is typically the churro cart with the longest queue.)

Pineapple Churro – $5.25

The churro is quite bright and colorful, and very fragrant of pineapple. There is no mistaking the smell. You can also add a marshmallow dipping sauce for $1.00 additional charge. The mix of cinnamon and sugar with the flavor of pineapple may sound strange, but the taste is fruity and perfectly complimentary. The pineapple flavor is as bold as the color, and in my opinion is best eaten alone sans the marshmallow dipping sauce. The dipping sauce is nothing out of the ordinary, and I felt made the dessert much too sweet and unenjoyable. (The sauce makes for good photo staging though.)

All in all, the Pineapple Churro is a win for the Food & Beverage teams at the Disneyland Resort. The item is trendy, well executed and worth another go.
