Halloween is less than a week away and Disney Springs is celebrating with frightful eats at three of their Food Trucks, located in Food Truck Park across from the AMC Theaters. We’re at the Springs’ Street Tacos truck for their Chicken Adobo Nachos, which are sure to offer a hauntingly zesty kick.
Chicken Adobo Nachos – $10.00
The Chicken Adobo Nachos feature blue corn tortilla chips with chicken adobo, toasted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberry, lime crema and a zesty pumpkin-cheese sauce.
Here, you have a lot of similar components as was used in the Pumpkin Mac and Cheese from the truck next door, so we’ll be drawing a few comparisons.
Prepare for a messy meal, but one you won’t regret. The chicken adobo here tastes surprisingly good and flavorful, with a bit of a spicy kick. The cheese here almost seems the same as the pumpkin-cheese sauce in the mac, but this one seemed far lighter and creamier, and not as heavy as the kind of nacho cheese sauce you’d usually expect in a dish like this. You do taste the pumpkin here too, but the sweetness works with the savory components.
If you’re weirded out by cranberries on your nachos, don’t be. You don’t really notice them except for the occasional pop of sweetness.
It’s creamy, it’s crunchy, it’s tangy (and cheesy.) Consider this another surprisingly well-prepared dish packed with Fall flavors. If you’ve been drinking your way (responsibly) around Disney Springs, this is sure to be a hit with your group.
If we had to pick between this or the mac and cheese, it’d pretty much be a tie, albeit for different reasons. If you’re looking for something with a kick, go for these nachos, but if you’re looking for a comforting bowl of bliss, go for the mac. Actually, why not go for both?
You can indulge in this messy-delicious limited-time dish from October 25-31, 2019.
