Halloween is less than a week away and Disney Springs is celebrating with frightful eats at three of their Food Trucks, located in Food Truck Park across from the AMC Theaters. We’re at the recently-opened Mac & Cheese Food Truck for their new Pumpkin Mac ‘n’ Cheese, complete with cranberry gummy worms… for a haunting touch.

We think the actual name on the signage is a bit of a misnomer, since we didn’t pick up any smokiness or spiciness that would usually accompany something with chipotle in it.

Pumpkin Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Cranberry Gummy Worms – $9.00

We’re ditching the menu name and sticking with the worms concept.

This mac and cheese comes tossed with robust pumpkin-cheese sauce, toasted pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries, and gummy cranberry worms.

We’re already fans of the mac and cheese from here, and this was a surprisingly good take on the classic dish. While we didn’t pick up much pumpkin flavor as was advertised, the sauce was super smooth and cheesy, and all of the toppings really paired well with it.

The dried cranberries and gummy worms gave it a sweet flavor, contrasted by the crunchy salty pumpkin seeds. If the gummy worms seem familiar here, it’s because they’re like the ones that were on the D-Luxe Grub Burger from June. Here, they’re executed perfectly because they aren’t too chewy or overly gummy like they were on the burger. (We’re guessing that was their first attempt at condiment gummies.) We’d never thought we’d say this, but the gummy worms paired perfectly with the mac and cheese.

If you’re into the Holiday Turkey sandwich the Earl of Sandwich usually has around this time as well, you’re going to love this, as it’s packed with the same fall flavors. If you’re looking to try something new for Halloween and want to get your spooky Fall-flavored mac on, it’s okay to skip the usual offerings here and try this out.
