Electric Umbrella at Epcot Set to Close This Winter for Extensive Remodeling

Project Gamma strikes again, and this time, it’s taking down the fan-favorite Electric Umbrella over at Innoventions East in Epcot. I can’t say I won’t miss those bathrooms.

The venue is set to be extensively remodeled, but nothing has been officially announced as of yet. It could return as Electric Umbrella or something new, but it is expected to be a food and beverage location regardless, offering guests a variety of dining options.

Electric Umbrella will officially close this winter. The last day listed with operating hours is currently November 23rd, 2019.

This comes on the heels of Cast Members being told that the last day of operations for the Epcot Character Spot, Camera Center, Fountain View Starbucks, Club Cool, and Colortopia at Innoventions will be on September 8th.

As we’ve detailed in prior posts, Innoventions East is set to be only partially removed, leaving the Electric Umbrella and MouseGear buildings remaining. A new path to the left of Electric Umbrella will lead guests to the Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster and the Play Pavilion more quickly from the park entrance when both open in 2021.

Stay tuned for more on exciting changes coming to Epcot as it transforms for its 40th anniversary in 2022.
