The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover, a favorite attraction among guests at the Magic Kingdom, has officially be moved to the refurbishment list.
When visiting the Walt Disney World webpage for the attraction, it is noted at the bottom of the page that the attraction is temporarily unavailable and closed for refurbishment.
The date for the refurbishment is currently set to end October 31st, 2020, though it could go longer as the refurbishment calendar only reaches out to Halloween.
Prior to the Magic Kingdom’s reopening, the attraction didn’t operate during Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews. The last time the attraction was open was in March, before it was closed for a week ahead of the park’s temporary shutdown. The attraction was recently moved to the “Temporarily Unavailable” status on July 28th.
Keep reading WDWNT for continuing coverage of the closure.
This was always a pleasant reversion during an otherwise hot and busy day. Shame really.
Is there any clue what refurbishments could be done on it? Wasn’t sure if only giving it a tune up or something a little more involved.
My wife and I hope they don’t close the Peoplemover permanently – there is nothing else like it. Great views, great for taking photos, great for relaxing and resting your feet.
Josh is going to very upset.
Shoooooooot. I mean, I’m not going to WDW anytime soon, but anytime they close down something older I get a bad feeling. Happy to be proved wrong, of course.
Just another reason to seriously question keeping a season pass.
