First Look at Magic Kingdom Map Including New Fantasyland and Cast Member Costumes

So, we have a bit of a New Fantasyland exclusive for you today…

Here’s our very first look at what the Magic Kingdom map will look like in a few weeks when the next phases of the expansion open. Notice that the Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train will be on the map despite not opening until 2014. Not earth-shattering news, but still kind of cool. Now let’s look at the cast member costumes that will populate the land:

Storybook Circus merchandise (Big Top Souvenirs)

Daytime busser and server at Be Our Guest Restaurant

Daytime and evening greeter at Be Our Guest Restaurant

Food and beverage (food carts and small vendors)

Fantasyland Forest merchandise (Bonjour Village Gifts and smaller locations)

Attractions (Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid, Seven Dwarfs’ Mine Train)

Character Attendant (YES! No generic costume for this section of the park!)

While not our most exciting update on New Fantasyland, I’m glad to see thought going into cast costuming as many usually complain that they have gotten more generic over the years. These costumes will fit nicely into the land and I can’t wait to see them in-person! What do you think?

what parts? are you saying beast and mermaid are opening in a few weeks?

    • The Mine Train was not originally part of the plans. It is replacing the now cancelled "A Birthday Surprise for Sleeping Beauty" and "Dreams Come True with Cinderella", so it was not officially added to the plans until January 2011 and work did not begin until shortly after that. That is why it is last, because it was decided on last.

    • Yes I am as it has already been announced that these realms open "Holiday 2012". I probably should have said a few months, but I used weeks as the Summer is almost over and it will be November before you know it.

  3. The Mine Train replaces  "A Birthday Surprise for Sleeping Beauty" and "Dreams Come True with Cinderella."   This was a NEEDED change.  While these additions will add to the beauty of Fantasyland, another E attraction is needed.  DISNEY WILL YOU EVER LISTEN.

A ride similar to Soar'in featuring the flight of Peter Pan to Never-Never Land would be fantastic.   You have the technology and since you can't built anything Marvel in Walt Disney World (East of the Mississippi), you need something that rivals Universal.  Toss in the other part of the canceled plan Pixie Hollow and know you have a super Fantasyland.

Now, we have to work on Tommorrow Land, Adventure Land.  Then its on to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Walt Disney World NEEDS to be the DISNEY LAND of all DISNEY LANDS.

This is the project of Walt Disney's dream.
