Muppets 3 Explained

Muppets 3
July 26th 2013
A 12 figure blind box series designed by Monty Maldovan.

Reporter Kermit

I think this is my favorite of the set. I also think this might be a copyright problem, but I don’t care! He HAS to come with an accessory microphone! Please!

Gonzo the Great

My second favorite of the set. The cape is almost, almost awesome enough to forgive the lack of Star Wars 2 chaser nose.

Animal

Similar to the 9″ figure from the 2nd series, I hope it comes with a drumstick!

Liberty Piggy

Kinda fun, if we hadn’t seen this type of figure before.

Captain Sam

I think this is from Muppets Treasure Island, but I’m definitely getting this one for my dad (although he already has the 9″ version).

Beauregard

He needs a mop accessory. I also think they could put some crazy hair in the ears a little to do something with them!

Newsman

The maps in the ears with the brown borders is absolutely perfect. Love his look.

Uncle Deadly

He looks ugly, mean and tattered… just as he should.

Crazy Harry

Great figure! I kinda want a a stick of dynamite as an accessory!

Mahna Mahna

Looks great! Can’t wait to get this and two Snowths!
Snowth

This HAS to be the triplet!

  1. We still have no more information on these vinyls yet? I was sort of hoping they would be out in march when i’m there than again im not that lucky.

  2. I hope the chaser is Walter. Also hope there is a variant of Samuel Arrow as the “Ghost” of Samuel Arrow.

  3. I didn’t think they could do better than series 1 & 2, but they did! Love the accessories…cape, hats, etc. too bad Newsman doesn’t have a microphone. Love this set!!!

  4. I love all of these; especially Kermit with his hat and Gonzo with the cape. I know we’ve seen the Statue of Liberty before, but it’s a nice tribute to the ending of Muppets 3-D, a tribute to all nations, but mostly America! Really like the Mr. Arrow hat and definitely hope a variant is indeed a Ghost of Samuel Arrow, like the McFarlane figure from a few years back.

I’ve seen reporter Kermit on a few TV shows in the last year or so, so I don’t think copyright will be an issue (obviously they made it).

Overall, very well done. Definitely picking up the entire set or possibly a case. Hoping the chaser is either Walter, another Fozzie or a 1980s Robot would be awesome.

  5. Been looking forward to these for a while. Not surprising to see folks like Kermit and Piggy represented again, but my favs here are definitely the newcomers like Uncle Deadly, Beauregard and Crazy Harry. I feel like an opportunity was lost on Gonzo’s nose though (I find this version just distracting) and I’m disappointed by the Newsman. I like the background in the Mickey ears, but his nose and eye lids are far too orange. Not that this will stop me from picking any of these up of course…

  6. these would have looked so cool on the original mold! Put this Kermit next to the Muppets 1 Kermit and we’ll just shake our heads in sadness to what might have been. IMO

  7. The Walter chaser is perfect! Love that they included this new Muppets character into the series!
