Ep. 122 DHS Clapboard This week we cover a lot of news by Disney including the extension of the Bakery series with a new twist, the next installment of Disney Afternoon, a few LE combos for Park 12 and the turnarounds for Muppets 3. There are also rumblings about a new case size for Park 13, a Little Mermaid set and a long awaited Marvel series. |

I think the way the right to Marvel characters works is that Disney owns everything comic-related, as well as Marvel Studios. So they could do movie and comic versions of the Avengers, but could only do comic versions of X-Men and Spiderman, since the movie versions are owned by their respective studios, so no Hugh Jackman Wolverine, but Wolverine in the classic Yellow/Blue costume is fine.
Marvel already has so many vinyl toys out there that these need to be special to stand out. I already have several Marvel Mighty Muggs, so if the art or designs are less than spectacular, I will probably pass. It’s entirely down to how the artists design, which is why I’m hoping for the Store artists as it’s more likely we’ll get great facial expressions and lots of detail from them.
Great podcast as usual. At this point, though, I’m pretty sure the Muppets chaser will be Walter (as much as I’d like to see the Jim Henson Muppet).
