The next trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will make its premier on April 16th to attendees at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA.
When will we see it? Disney hasn’t said anything other than it will be attached to “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” but I have a feeling that we may see the trailer shortly after it premiers at Star Wars Celebration. “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” open in the US on May 1st but will open in Europe on April 22nd. Expect to see something appear online during the fourth week of April or possibly during the weekend of Celebration.
Last year, MakingStarWars.com posted the description of “The Force Awakens” teaser before it debuted and they were spot on. Now Making Star Wars has information as to what we will see in the newest trailer for “The Force Awakens.”

*drools* I wish they’d just hurry up already! You know, I wonder how much of Luke they’ll put into even the final trailer. Seems as though ultimately the mystery of his whereabouts and role would just add to the excitement leading up to the release. I mean, they’ll certainly include him at some point, but I thought the light saber ignition (allegedly Luke’s) at the end of the first teaser really added to the build up/tension. I hope they continue to implement that kind of thinking into subsequent trailers.
The reason being that the trend these days with trailers (which often end up being better than the movies they’re advertising) is to essentially show you the movie in three minutes. It really takes away from the mystery.
Lastly, has there ever been more pressure on any team when it comes to putting together trailers?! Even the tiniest flub from J.J. and his staff would be far more detrimental than ever seen before. And he can thank Lucas and those subpar prequels for that. I don’t know about you, but when Disney announced the new movies I had my apprehensions. All I could think about was the Disney-fication of Star Wars. Not that Disney doesn’t know their stuff, but I think you get what I’m saying. They don’t seem an exact fit. My 15 y.o. son felt the same way.
BUT, when that first trailer came out, OH MAN! My son said, “that’s going to be much better than I was thinking”. Even my wife, who “tolerates” Star Wars, said it looked pretty cool.
J.J. – 1, misguided public perception -0.
I wonder how much Luke they will put into the final film. It wouldn’t shock me if we just saw him at the very end. I think that light saber ignition was just an Easter egg. Totally agree with you in regards to thrailers today. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 basically gave away the whole movie in the trailers they released and the actually last scene in the film is in one of the trailers. Trailers should be there to get you excited, not to tell you everything. Hate to say it, but I think i know everything there is to know about Ultron, just through the trailers. I was beyond excited when I learned Disney purchased Lucasfilm. Lucas has done nothing but made things a mess for the last 20 years and it really was a dark time for fans of the Original Trilogy because I felt we were never going to see anything good that was Stat Wars related. Disney is very anti-Prequel and that made me excited too. They love the Originals, where George liked the Prequels. I’m still worried about the first movie because my expectations are a little to high and think I will ultimately disappoint myself when I finally see it. Just glad it is coming out and we get to see the original cast again, even if it’s only for a short time.
