The Walt Disney World Resort has always offered complimentary watercraft service to and from the resort, but will now offer an additional paid program. The service departs from the Grand Floridian and can be used by guests traveling to any destinations around the Seven Seas Lagoon. It is however warned that private return service from the Magic Kingdom may not be available due to the regular boat traffic in that area.

The service can accommodate up to 10 passengers per boat and costs $20 each way per family. The private experience is available throughout the day, based on availability. Reservations can be made by calling the recreation team at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort between 8AM and 6PM at 321-318-8212.

  1. Can you imagine the entitled guests who use this service and their raging tantrums when they find out their boat has been canceled due to thunder in the area.
“Oh no, must take a bus? Frederick, fix this.”

  2. Writing is on the wall this is a test in my opinion. They can start charging for all guests’ transportation which used to be ‘free’. With insane crowds at Disney and no new growth plans, just refurbishment, people will complain, but then will pay for it.

    • It is the beginning. They already surveyed about charging for all free transportation. And with today’s people attitude of “just shut up and take my money”… How can people be so self destructive?

Waiting for the usual troll to appear. Let me take a sit.

      • Hey, sorry I’m late, had to go see my son Donald. He’s trolling everyone by pretending to run for president.

    • How is this a test for charging for all transportation? People are paying for the luxury of having a boat to themselves, not just getting from point A to point B. I think it’s more of a test to see how many “premium” experiences they can offer. Private boats could lead into VIP entrances with zero wait to get into the park. I think that there are plenty of things they would monetize before charging for ALL transportation.

      • Answer: because they can. Private ride will only be a water taxi away from crowds. Nothing really VIP at overrun Disney unless you’re a star or drop 5 figures and they will open lands for you after hours and such.

They’ve wanted to charge guests for transportation and resort parking for a while and have it on some surveys out now! Don’t worry. They will monetize (your term) the other areas too. WDW under terrible management. Short sighted IMO. Guests seem to talk about how hard they were squeezed and how much closed than how fun the experience was.

  3. Disney wants all your money. Too bad no longer a family friendly getaway just a corporate money machine. Shame FOR kids

    • No we don’t, we just want 99.99% of your money. We’re not completely heartless… just kidding! A response fee of $10 has been charged to your credit card. Have a magical day!

      • The magic lives in the people’s mind or heart of the beholder, and probably you have lost your magic in life over time Lucia. I doubt it just relates to Disney. You’re probably kinda older in spirit, and worse…set in your ways, grumpy and are “over it” with many things in your life. Feel badly for you, but feel worse for your friends. But, I will agree they have cut back too much in response to their enormous crowds instead of expanding and have added another park in FL by now.
